My journey with meditation began back in 2003 when I sought out a teacher who could help me learn how to handle chronic pain I had suffered from for many years prior. I had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia back in 1998 and was told the only hope to deal with the pain was through medication and light exercise. After several years of following that path and receiving only minor relief and countless side effects from the prescriptions, I sought holistic healing for help. One of those paths I found myself studying was meditation. Through patience and willingness to learn its various forms, I discovered very quickly the healing power that can come from within. Through meditation, I learned that the body has an amazing ability to handle pain without the use of prescription drugs.
In the years that followed, I participated in meditation retreats including Vipassana, which has students spend ten full days in complete silence practicing a technique in self-awareness. I have led single day retreats for groups who wish to explore the benefits of meditation and have also helped many individually find release from energy blockages through the techniques I employ. There are many forms of meditation. Through breath work, guided visualization journeys, chanting, sensation awareness, and more, I have been able to help many heal spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically from within.

Today I am no longer on any prescription medications and I know that my meditation practices each day are one of the major contributing factors for this.
